  • AUKEY 30W 7 Port USB Hub

I travel with Macbook Pro, live broadcast gear and recording setup for the gigs I cover. Mostly recording music concerts for various reasons, so most of the gear and accessories needed USB 3.0 connectivity directly to Macbook. So always handy to have multiple USB hubs.

No negatives as far as I'm concerned, as a powered USB Hub, this is very solid device. The colour and shape matches with other Apple family products. Build quality is wonderful too.
    A must have accessory
7 USB 3.0 ports are great additions as Macbook pro is always in need of that extra ports with added bonus of power. I plugged in Zoom H6 recording device, Logitech HD Camera, Blackmagic Ultra studio for live broadcast and external SSD drive, which all worked fine. Speed is fine too for my heavy demands. FHD live HD streaming, Live audio recording via UA Apollo as audio interface, 4K video processing, which all works brilliantly via this hub.

As this is a powered hub, power hungry devices like large storage disks, Microphones that needed power and other powered accessories that you usually plug into secondary USB wall adapter. I can confirm that Apogee Mic works with this hub. Smartphone charging is not advised, but may able to charge slowly. Comes in the box, USB Hub, power supply, USB 3.0 cable, CD driver and manual.

All the USB ports are backwards compatible though speed varies according to the standard, the connected USB cable has re-inforced terminations, top of the device is white and surroundings are brushed aluminium. Overall a solid hub that functions well without causing any issues. Please do check out the pictures to see the build quality and necessary info.
